Donoussa also known as Denoussa is located in the Small Cyclades, has an area of 13.5 sq.km and 163 single inhabitants (2011 census). Together with Amorgos, they are the easternmost islands of the Cyclades. Stavros is the largest village on the island, where the port of the island is located. Smaller villages of the island are Messaria, Mersini and Kalotaritissa.

• Stavros: Sandy beach next to the port.
• Kedros: 15 ‘walk from Stavros Beach. Remains of a German ship that sank during World War II can be seen at the bottom of the sea of Kedros.
• Livadi: For many the most beautiful beach of the island, with fine white sand below Mersini. Accessible on foot (20 minutes walk from Mersini) or by boat.
•Fykio: Small sandy beach next to Livadi
• Vathi Limenari: It is located below Messaria which hosts the Geometric settlement of Donoussa. Accessible via a path.
• Sapounochoma, Vlycho, Tripiti or Mesa Ammos: The 3 beaches of Kalotaritissa, at the northern end of the island.

Donoussa is connected to Amorgos, Naxos and the Small Cyclades with “Skopelitis”, 3 times a week. Departs from Naxos at 14:00 and approaches the island at 18:00.
